Green Ant  |  Acrylic on canvas, 120 x 120cm

‘Green Ant’ was the first painting in a series of roller drawings that became the Ant Series. The artwork drew inspiration from a bush walking trip in Daintree Forest in Far-North Queensland where the green ant lives in abundance. As we learned about the medicinal properties of insect, we also discovered that if you lick their tails (make sure it’s the right end) it tastes like lime Whizz Fizz. This piece was selected as a finalist in The Waterhouse Natural History Art Prize (2012) and exhibited at the South Australian Museum.
